Education sector decision makers in all four main parts of the education sector have not faced such turbulence post-March 2020, than since the inception of the Education Act in 1870.

There are a number of intangible risks that have been created as a result of distance learning, the most oft discussed in the media being that school closures widen the equity gap for pupils, and that poor experiences with ed-tech in real-world use, may set back confidence in educational technologies by a generation. However, there are an increasing number of clearly defined tangible risks that key educational decision makers must face head-on.

At the very top of the list is the physical protection and safeguarding of the Children under their care, mix into this enhanced IT & Cyber risks faced since March 2020, and the fact that teachers are often overwhelmed and unsupported to do their jobs well, then there could be a perfect storm requiring weathering by our educational leaders.
